When I was about seven years old, I represented my school at an event. As my father dropped me off at the venue, he asked me if the school was bringing me back home.
I said yes, that the school had arranged for a bus to take me home and he didn't need to come back for me.
I’m here again,

Thread!!!
I was really surprised when I found that James said that it's a sin if you declare that your tomorrow will go a way that you want instead of submitting it to God's will.
E shock you?
Read slowly.
James 4:13-17
Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow.
What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”
As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil.
If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
-----
I know! I was as shocked as you are.
Before I used to decree and declare whatever fantasies I could come up with.
It was difficult to adjust my prayer to actually bring my desires to God and end it with "nevertheless not my will but yours".
My life has been infinitely more satisfying in God.
It saved me from getting attached to outcomes that aren't good for me. It's made me more grateful for God's blessings.
It's delivered me from the crippling self doubt that comes from the performance driven mindset of "holding a consistent confession".
I used to blame myself if things didn't go my way. I feared God too much to blame God. So I figured it's because my faith wasn't strong enough, or I didn't craft my confession in "past tense" or I didn't confess it consistently enough.
Or maybe that day the preacher raised a seed, I was too afraid to drop my last 1k. And by not emptying my pockets I missed a kairos moment to tap into an anointing to deliver my desires.
Kai. I've suffered.
Funny thing is, since I stopped all that childishness, God has never put me to shame. God has answered my prayers like... Crazy.
Thank God for Apostolic doctrine.
Apostolic doctrine is not to get "your own" desires. It's to align with God's desires for you. And God's desires are always good. Always.
And that involves a lifestyle of supplication with absolute faith that God will give us our desires if they're according to His will.
And if they're not, the Holyspirit will intercede for us and give us something better.
Apostolic doctrine is to trust that God does exceedingly abundantly above what we ask or think... Even if it is not what we pictured in our minds.
The One who said faith will move this mountain, first said in John 5:19 -
“Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does."
Mountain moving faith was never an invitation to control reality. It was an invitation to speak only after the Father has spoken.
Lord. I love Apostolic doctrine.
Pro Tip - once your Christianity starts seeming performance based, it's probably not what the Apostles taught.
Try more supplication and petition towards your sovereign Lord like the Apostles.
Do less manifesting your future or commanding tomorrow. Apostle James said it's a sin.
You're welcome.

1/1000 reasons why I hate “miracle church”
My cousins at upper sokponba road shared this gist. Their neighbour, an aged woman (Iye Osazee) had leg pains which was diagnosed to be rheumatism. Her friend, Mama Trinity, suggested that they visit a powerful man of God inside Nomayo area - a deep part of Upper Sokponba.
She was very reluctant at first and it took several days of convincing before she agreed and they went to the midweek service or so. Mama Osazee and her friend sat at the back during the service and the man of God was preaching and the preaching was taking time. With rheumatism, you can’t sit for too long or stand for too long - Mama Osazee was in discomfort for she had sat too long.
While the pastor was preaching, he was observing the woman at the back who was in discomfort and was struggling to keep her arse on the chair. He took sometime and then went straight to her; this woman, sit down properly and don’t let me paralyse you. I know you are a witch and my message has been burning you, confess now or i paralyse you.
Mama Osazee; poor old woman was in shock. Mama trinity started explaining that they came for healing 😂
Long story short, as at when this gist was told; mama Osazee and Mama trinity were no longer friends 😂
The lady who makes hair in my area got married last year. She got pregnant shortly after, but had a miscarriage in the third month. She was so distraught.
She got pregnant again. I saw her two weeks ago and didn't like the looksm of her feet. They were so swollen.
Somewhere in the world, someone just finished building his house with his name boldly carved in one corner of the wall. Another man just took his life and left a suicide note for his wife.
A couple just gave birth and they’re eager to christen the child. A school boy is somewhere right now, carefully calligraphing his name in the margins of his favorite book. An undergrad just inscribed his name in the college’s bathroom saying: “I was here”.
If you really look at humans, you will find that each of us has a deep primal need to persist. We all want to be here, to live, and more importantly, to persist. We scream this desire in the grand and in the little; through power, wealth and ambition and through the smaller things.
We treasure those who remember our names; we plant and bury our faces across the internet, even if for 24 hours. We find the idea of having a family comforting because are more terrified by the idea of leaving this world with nobody through whom we’re sure to persist. Even when we choose to die, we write notes and leave behind, because we’re dying to live.
Most of us will be not be remembered for too long. We’re not Presidents or scientists or philosophers or great military warriors to be taught in schools. But we’re all struggling to the same thing. That we lived here. That we, like the millions before us, tried too. That we built, we loved, fought, cried and laughed. We are always reaching into the future, in our own ways, to some unknown people who will live here long after we're gone, saying: “hey, everyone, I was here, once”.
If you can see our collective humanity this broadly, you can manage a nod of empathy in the direction of others because you understand that we’re all victims of a plot we do not fully understand and all we do here, for the most part, is merely an act of bravery. We’re fighting cluelessness with action, convincing ourselves that we matter, and hoping that someday someone out there believes that.
Tagging @PoliceNG because I cannot unsee this sad thread.💔
Surely you can see how disturbing Nigeria has become, how we’re falling to pieces. If you do not fear for the masses, fear for yourselves.
It’s only a matter of time before these evil men overrun the entire country.
You live in Abuja.
Life is good.
The money is good.
Business is good.
Family is good.
