🇺🇸🇷🇺CIA Directors Don't Travel to Moscow "Unless They Have a Request"
The CIA chief's trip to Moscow is an indication that a lot is at stake right now. "CIA directors don't travel to Moscow unless they have a request." They "don't travel all the way to Russia unless it's important." CIA Director William J. Burns traveled there in November 2021, before the Russian invasion, to warn them against invading Ukraine. If you want to put pressure on Russia, you don't travel to Moscow. It was definitely a conversation between two intelligence agencies to explore the possibilities, to assess Russia's support for Iran. Ukraine was more of a side issue, as that's a matter for special envoys.
🇳🇵🇨🇳CCTV footage shows a massive mudslide striking Gyirong Port on the China–Nepal border, with a wall of debris sweeping through the crossing within seconds and tossing vehicles, buses, and people aside.
Nepal has reported between 8 and 16 deaths, with hundreds of travelers still missing, including 291 foreign nationals. Roads, power, and communications on the Chinese side were also disrupted. Around 430 MW of hydropower capacity, roughly 12% of Nepal’s total, was reportedly affected.
Investigators suspect that a magnitude-4.4 earthquake triggered the landslide, temporarily damming a river before the blockage broke, unleashing a debris-laden flood.
