I suspect that after a certain amount of money it becomes a trap. You either have to possess ambition and wealth and not care about it (in which case you restore yourself to the same state as those without money) or you will become prey to a sort of mania until the moment you realize you are doing to die.
The acceptance of death helps you to recalibrate. Why will any of this matter when my youth has evaporated and I begin my descent into the grave?
We must target higher things: whether provisioning for our descendants, developing projects for posterity, or advancing the frontier in some form or fashion.
@sivori I can agree with that, "nice" modern men tend to be this way.
Good men however will defend their values when the time comes, with rage and fury if needed. This man chose to defend his values and peace (and that of the future family he likely wishes to create) with dignity.
@iAmJoshHunt Not making a fuss.
The people are not making any consequences for the government, so they've consistently edged the line little by little, slowly eroding the UK while British people allowed it.
@Lordmiles It's curious... Increasing taxes, open borders, expanding welfare, men in women's bathrooms. None of this was voted in, and yet, people still seem to think it can be voted out...
In all seriousness, one of the best ways to build and maintain your memetic resistance is to make sure that at any given time, you’re reading something from before 1900. It doesn’t much matter what it is.
A few caveats, the github repo I shared is a workaround, I used to use a different repo and they shut the door on that. Garmin are developing their own pay-monthly intelligence features so I guess they don't want folks getting access like this. Nonetheless, I prefer the Garmin watches with a long battery life, built in GPS and getting chosen notifications on it over smart watches that eat battery and need a smartphone nearby.
My Garmin has become part of my AI workflows and I get notifications there, but I see the appeal of a screenless device.
