Here’s the thing: News channels that not a single young person watches, cares about, or are influenced by, are being deployed to distract older people from a youth protest that they were never planning to attend. To speak to an audience that is already bought in. For the sheer appeasement of the already appeased. So you’ve got older people sitting in rooms telling basically themselves a young thing isn’t a big thing, because it isn’t like the old things they remember from when they were a young thing. Meanwhile young people are screaming things about a leak thing that should be a big thing but is treated like it’s not a thing because it’s an age old thing which was neglected by the old who didn’t do a thing.
