Very interesting how differently Nate treated Maddy compared to Cassie. With Maddy, the relationship was built on emotional chaos, physical aggression, control, toxicity, and constant conflict. Their relationship mostly revolved around fighting, manipulation, obsession, and intense physical attraction.

Meanwhile with Cassie, Nate almost treated her like the idealized woman he always fantasized about having. There was a softness, obsession, emotional fixation, and romantic intensity there that we rarely ever saw him give Maddy. Even the way he physically approached Cassie felt completely different emotionally.

I honestly think it reveals a lot about Nate psychologically. Maddy represented power, challenge, ego, and conflict to him, while Cassie represented emotional escape, comfort, admiration, and the fantasy of unconditional love and devotion. That contrast is one of the most interesting parts of Nate’s character throughout Euphoria. #euphoria
