The Manager would then humbly remind them that he is a Kikuyu and don't understand their language. Few foolish interrogation would follow like " We ni Mkikuyu wa wapi? MCA wako ni wa Azimio ama UDA? Unajua kwa kina Rigathi? Mbona we si brown? "

They would tell him in English " We are sorry that you don't understand an International language, we are just concerned by the type of DJ you are hiring here. We would love to listen to Prince Indah songs but if he can't play them well and good. That your waiter can just take these drinks are return them to the counter so that we leave"

The manager would immediately summon every staff to help the DJ look for Prince Indah songs as if they are scattered around. Even the cooks would be involved just to make the Luo patrons stay. A Indah playlist would quickly be made, specially for the important guests.

The few Kikuyus in the club would be informed that there are Waheshimiwa from Kisumu around and they should just behave. Everyone in the club would behave as if they Love Prince Indah songs and would start dancing to them primitively, the same way Jo' Migori dance to Aredi Jatanga songs.

My point is not that Luos are bad or Kikuyus are good but as Africans , there is a way different groups of people view themselves. What a certain group pride in is not necessarily what others do. For example, Luos primarily make money to live their life or basically to spend it. We believe that money is a gateway to what can make us happy - which is true.

On the other side, Kikuyus make money to invest. They would do anything to have it even killing because in their mind there are countless projects that need money to be successful. They understand each other and once they learn that they need to go down for a brother to get that money, they would do it.

Wan mano wakia. The same way they came with their 100K to enjoy is the same way I have come with my Ksh 300 to enjoy myself.
