Here's what I know for sure:
Life is going to life. Whether you're a new student or the most senior faculty member in the hospital--it will. And we all need to be okay with accepting help when we're flying on one wing,
Because when we don't, it sends a message. It does.

Whew.
Such a powerful and simple statement. And a reminder that, as a role model, I was sending the wrong message. Fortunately, the learning climate allowed this junior member of our team to help me to course correct.
And she was right.
Our attitude in medicine absolutely needs to stop being, โI went through this terrible thing so the next generation should tooโ and instead be, โI went through this terrible thing and want no one to ever have to experience it again.โ
Yesterday, I took mifepristone and today I will take misprostol for a missed abortion for a very wanted and very planned pregnancy. The combination has about an 85% success rate and will hopefully allow me to avoid an invasive procedure. I am really sad, and I am feeling the loss
