I am honored to share that I secured the 2nd Position at the AI and Robotics Competition/Exhibition at the 41st Annual National Convention, held at the National Mosque Conference Hall in Abuja.
When I was in high school, I asked my biology teacher if I could be excused to go to the drinking fountain. I had the hiccups.
“Sure,” she said. “But first, let me buy your hiccups from you.”
“Huh?”
“Humor me,” she said. “How’s a quarter sound? Fair?”
“Sure.”
She gave me the quarter—and hiccuped herself. I looked at it in my hand and realized my own hiccups were gone.
“You can still be excused if you’d like,” she said.
I’ve tried this on countless people since, and it works about 90% of the time. It’s a fabulous party trick.
I got a call from my daughter’s high school principal today. He said she’d been caught operating an “unauthorized commercial enterprise” out of the girls’ locker room. My stomach DROPPED. I left work immediately, already imagining the worst: Drugs. Vapes. Stolen stuff. Some TikTok side hustle gone wrong. By the time I got to the school, I was preparing myself for lawyers, suspension, maybe even police involvement. I walk into the principal’s office….…and my daughter is sitting there quietly with a spiral notebook full of spreadsheets. Not cash. Not customer lists. Spreadsheets. Turns out, she’d noticed some girls at school were quietly struggling: • no money for feminine hygiene products • no winter jackets • wearing the same clothes every week after budget cuts hit families hard So she started her own underground support network. She collected donated jackets, hygiene products, gloves, and clothes from wealthier neighborhoods.
Then she cataloged everything by size and need in her notebook like a tiny operations manager. And from her gym locker, she distributed items discreetly to students who needed them — no embarrassment, no announcements, no attention. The principal wasn’t calling because she was in trouble. He called because the school found out… and wanted my permission to turn her “illegal locker room business” into an official school charity program.
I thought I was driving to the biggest parenting nightmare of my life. Instead, I walked into one of the proudest moments I’ve ever had as a parent.
Don't make decisions based on how you feel today. Rather, make them based on who you wanna be...
Your emotions will change, trends will change, friends will come and go, opportunities will appear & disappear. But every choice you make, make sure it's for who you're becoming.
Dear 23 years old.
Start investing early. The earlier you start, the more time your money has to compound quietly in the background.
Invest in government-backed securities if you want stability. Treasury Bills and Bonds are not flashy, but they teach discipline and consistency.
Invest in market funds if you are a beginner. Professionals manage the portfolio while you learn how markets work gradually.
Invest in stocks
Invest in stocks for long-term growth. Strong companies can grow your wealth over time, but patience matters more here .
Invest in yourself first. A higher earning capacity can outperform many investments in your 20s.
Don’t ignore emergency savings while investing, I call it safety net . An emergency should not force you to sell investments at the wrong time.
Start with consistency, not big amounts.
Many people delay investing because they think they need huge money first. Time and consistency matters more
Have a sound prayer life . You will need it .
Cheers

@wealthHabib@Glowriah__ This is quite understandable but don't be too hard on yourself, okay? What is yours will never go to someone else, trust this 💯
Keeping going, keep seeking, someday we'll celebrate victory😇
-It started with a day of exhausting hours of registration at the café
-Then a full year of engagement
-Yet Alhamdulillah, NYSC no see me finish! 🤭💃🥳
P.S: POP was 4 days ago; I just felt like posting now
Winning this competition is not just my victory; it’s a testament to the power of faith, encouragement, and the people who believe in us. May this be just the beginning of even greater accomplishments.
And to my sister Hafsat ❤️, for whom I strive to set a pace: “You will achieve even greater things, by the permission of Allah.”
And Above all Praises be to the Most high having made it easy to achieve this milestone
Before all these, I called my parents. I told my Father; Suleiman Alhassan about the competition, and he said, “May Allah bless you. You can do better.” My mom shared the same blessing.
