Obsessed with this guy on the US men's gymnastics team who's only job is pommel horse, so he just sits there until he's activated like a sleeper agent, whips off his glasses like Clark Kent and does a pommel horse routine that helps deliver the team its first medal in 16 years.
In their final collegiate game as teammates at Notre Dame, brothers Chris and Pat Kavanagh made sure it was a memorable one:
✅ 5 goals for Chris
✅ 6 assists for Pat
✅ Secured back-to-back national titles
@LindenwoodU@LindenwoodLax To the board that made these cuts, shame on y’all. The backpedaling hypocrisy of this decision is in a league of its own.
Boys, one last ride. Saddle the fuck up and give ‘em hell. MFGD.
31 out
Lindenwood University. Didn’t know it existed until the day I signed.
Coaches, teammates, friends, family…4 incredible years spent with world class individuals.
Not all for naught, but today’s news was nothing short of abysmal.
@LindenwoodU@LindenwoodLax
Coach Lange, if you can still see this, thanks for everything. Every player that stepped onto that turf was proud to be there playing under your guidance.
To everyone who’s journey ended early today, keep your head up. The sun will rise again tomorrow.
Well... let's talk about it - Because there seems to be an increase in these types of cuts across the country.
Although MANY factors play into programs being "discontinued," and I know that each situation is drastically different, the news and lackluster press release seems nebulous for most of the Lindenwood community. And, to be more straightforward - disappointingly bad.
It has not even been 2 Years since @LU_Lions first announced its transition to Division 1, which at the time was supposed to be based on a "strategic plan" to.... get this, "drive enrollment, enhance university visibility, and generate revenue." To me, axing 10 Programs seems like the "strategic plan" had a significant amount of mismanaged and unaddressed issues. Starting from the top.
I am in no way trying to discredit any of the known hard work by so many during Lindenwood's recent athletic transitions and achievements, but ask for some simple accountability.
So, @LindenwoodU, I hope you are genuine when you say you are “carefully” working on rebalancing the university's athletics, academics, and staff investments because based on the complete failure to do so over the past two years - 284 student-athletes and support staff have lost their programs. Be better?
My heart breaks for Jim Lange. Played at Lindenwood when it was MCLA, graduated in 2007. Became a coach there upon graduating. Was on the staff when they went NCAA. Became head coach in 2014. Lindenwood goes DI last year. Twenty years. And now, the program is cut after 2024.
It is with heavy hearts we mourn the passing of Coach Jack Meachum.
We mourn with the entire Indiana lacrosse community.
Thank you Jack for all you have done, rest easy Coach, you will be missed.
