I often hear that autistic people can't lie, but I defitinely can. What I can't do is insincerity. I can't fake enthusiasm, I can't gush, and I can't pretend I'm best friends with someone I barely know. It feels to me like these traits are the currency of the neurotypical world.
Kinks are so weird because what do you MEAN something can be insanely hot in theory/when it’s roleplay, but when experienced in real life, it is simply Awful and I hate it 💀 (no I won’t be elaborating, iykyk)
if a neurodivergent person is holding perfect eye contact with you, she is not listening. she is performing listening. her entire brain is spent keeping her body still and her face neutral. if you actually want her to remember what you said, let her look at the floor. let her fidget. let her doodle. she can either look at you or she can hear you. pick one.
Only now realizing JUST how many cryptids, mythology’s, etc were 100% just various animals in the wild with birth defects/mutations doing their best too get through life and unknowingly being remembered throughout century’s of human literature and thought
May Jimothy live forever
My art therapist introduced me to a modified way of doing this where i do a quick drawing of the experience (often abstract - colours, lines, shapes) before journaling it. I’ve really enjoyed this process
the best thing you can do for yourself is actively increase your surface area for luck to hit you. go outside, try new cafes, museums, events, take a new route home, speak to people, ask questions, side quest. the more you do, the more serendipity and synchronicity will find you.
