Important thread re. generation and the pandemic, and again something we’re exploring in our fieldwork. #Covid had profound impacts across generation and this is reflected in moments of intergenerational understanding/solidarity existing alongside discourses of division/tension.
@alisonstenning This would be incredible to see. Do you know the outdoor seawater pool in Stonehaven, near Aberdeen ? It is staggeringly warm and utterly delightful - would be amazing to have our own right here in the northeast... https://t.co/nQBy1Hm5UA
Last week, my university advertised a "pandemic productivity" seminar. Today, I got the "due to unforeseen circumstances" cancellation message.
Unforeseen? Really? This little example shows why we need to change the narrative about productivity amid crisis. 🙏🏽 /Thread
@vailini1 Mmmm - occurs locally but has national attention, and everyone rolls their eyes at the outcome anyway. Agree with you how interesting Halloween is and about its trans Atlantic leap in the past 10 years. But note too how this is a *return* to Europe, from whence it came 🎃 👻
#soc1027 students, I have one word for you: #ritual
Such a shame our virtual exchange with @IUPUI anthropology students is over - this national tradition would be a belter to discuss!
