I do think people 25 and under should watch early Vanderpump rules not because it proves elder millennials were so great and had superior culture (let’s be honest it potentially proves the opposite, back to the days when every girl owned 40 15 dollar chunky statement necklaces) but that it shows there was this completely different culture pre 2016 that was eradicated utterly in the midst of cataclysmic social upheaval and there’s value in remembering a pre polarization era where there was kind of broad optimism and earnestness coupled with a trashy sleazy youth culture that was significantly more permissive than what exists now. Like everyone in those first couple of seasons would be immediately canceled now weekly for the things they said and did on tv.
