Someone challenged me recently to write down one or more random observations around me per day. It’s really been a game changer because your insights are only as good as your observations.
Don't give up. Try everything. Exhaust every option. Knock on every door. Ask and ask again. Keep going even when you're tired. Be pertinacious with your efforts, your thoughts, your prayers, your kindness, your love, your work. You are incredibly capable.
You're right & I've benefitted from this. Caveat that the ones that pay well & give you autonomy are very competitive and need some special skill/experience, not really an entry-level or 'done out of desperation' thing
Inject this into your veins, young lawyers. 💉
Job 8:7
[7]Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.
Do not despise your days of small beginnings.
DO NOT.
Enjoy and document the small beginnings.
It only gets better and better.
Don't compare your now with your colleagues' now.
Focus on your journey and grow into the version of your dreams.
Till we all win. 🥂
If you work remotely, you should
1. Design your day before it starts
2. Separate being online from doing the work
3. Build systems that aids your productivity
4. Communicate more than you think it's necessary
5. And most importantly, know when to log off.
One of my hopes is to age into a better mindset.
The general trend seems to become less open minded, less resilient, less capable of handling change with ease and flexibility as the years roll by.
I hope to grow in the opposite direction. How can my mindset be better today than it was yesterday?
Finally ready to talk about this: I applied for Permanent Residency in the US under the Extraordinary Ability Category (EB1) & it was approved last month.
Grateful to have gotten this in my first year here + before graduating 🥹🥹
