Clanchy tries to cancel a reviewer, accuses them of making up quotes that turn out to be verbatim. 3 women critical of her are thrown under the bus, and now she’s doing the biggest press tour she’s ever done and is some sort of freedom of speech hero.

Mad that if a review criticises the content of a book it's apparently now okay for authors to just deny it’s in there and big players in the book industry will close ranks and deny it with them.
ppl describing the negative reviews of kate clanchy’s book as “disgusting trolls” is pretty disconcerting. one quick glance was enough to see the reviews were pointing out racialised language projected onto children. words the author and fans have even lied about being written.

Glad to see Stirling Publishing's links to far-right, racist 'Ethno-nationalists' are being written about now. Would still love to know who these people in the arts that call Tabitha Stirling 'their favourite nazi' are though.
Julie Burchill has pulled out of a contract with Stirling Publishing for her book Welcome to the Woke Trials after a recording emerged linking the publisher to a far right movement. More here: https://t.co/cWnq0IXOAS
@LambethMPS It’s unsafe because your officers are throwing people on the floor, elbowing women, kicking people. And then their colleagues are laughing about it.
One poor women got elbowed in the face by a policeman, another right next to me was kicked in the chest. A policeman’s response after was a laugh and ‘that’s a shame’.
The police were there as an antagonistic force tonight. If they’d have stayed away everyone would have been home early. Instead they showed up and escalated events until they had a chance to get violent.
