I want a land acknowledgement that says, "We acknowledge that we are on the unceded territories of the British Empire. We thank them for having cared for this land and look forward to working with them in partnership as we continue to build this great civilization together."
@tallsnail In an adult and I do this. I have two kinds of socks: long socks (for wearing pants) & short socks (for wearing shorts). I always buy the same kind. If someone gifts me socks, I donate or throw them away.
@MichaelKiwi77@tracewoodgrains Whatever the chances of electing a Republican are, the chances of electing a 3rd party candidate are lower. And wouldn’t a Republican be a better choice than Chevalier? If those were your two choices on the ballot, you’d vote against her, right?
@MichaelKiwi77@tracewoodgrains Voting for a 3rd party is equivalent to not voting. You have two choices for who gets into power. You can either pick a side, or you can let everyone else pick for you.
@sgodofsk If you’re OK with ignoring rights based on public safety, you can justify almost any restriction. eg: race-based restrictions on firearms would reduce homicides far more than a machine gun ban, but I am against it.
@SergioVengeance@MorosKostas@avsterbone You’re mixing up the first amendment with the cultural norm of free speech. Yes YouTube is free to not host whatever videos they want. That doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. They could ban all rap videos & it would be constitutional, but also a bad idea.
@untitld_project@AlexGodofsky Or it would just be the definition of a planet changes slightly so that large asteroids & small bodies in the outer solar system count. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Ceres, Vesta, Pallas, …, Jupiter, etc.
@BowTiedBroke I would simply walk away and save $250. The most time I’ve spent buying a car is 60 minutes from walking in the door to driving off with the car.
@Teawisher@KelseyTuoc@AnechoicMedia_ It’s a way to restrict voting to those who are likely to be more competent voters. Early in US history, they got a similar effect by requiring voters to own land.
@humantransit There are probably some exceptions in some states. For example, Washington does not require a front plate for collector vehicles. If you register your car as a collector vehicle, they only send you one plate (for the rear).
@liron@burny_tech It’s surprising because it’s not true. Chess engines are so much better than any human that the human just adds noise. That’s why all the centaur chess orgs/tournaments faded away a decade ago.
@tracewoodgrains Sam Harris has been trying for decades to get leftists & nonreligious people to understand this. If anything, westerners seem even more oblivious to this fact nowadays.
@MossadSux@FenixAmmoHR Without a FA you do the same thing, except if it doesn’t go into battery on its own, you push it into battery using the divot in the bolt and then close the dust cover.
@Chadociraptor@FenixAmmoHR If your rifle lacks a forward assist, (or you just don’t want to use the FA for some reason) you can usually push on the divot in the bolt to get it into battery.
