one thing that irks me about modern cinema is that everyone looks like they live in an airbnb or hotel none of that shit feels like a lived in home but throw on the most random 90s movie and you won't have any doubt that a character has spent most of their life in that apartment
Women will selfship and be head over heels for a 45 year old fictional man from a video game who is balding and looks like he hasnβt showered in 5 weeks. Men refuse to even play a game if a fictional woman doesnβt fit their hyperspecific beauty standard.
#backrooms SPOILERS
i can't shut up about this, i want to talk about it forever
the way Jimmy and Clark are really the same character, written by different people
you can literally draw parallels between them: a lonely middle-aged man, envious of more successful people and blaming everyone around except himself
and that table scene? literally Jimmy's monologue during his birthday
"you can eat them"?? hello??
backrooms for Clark are literally after-crash Tulpar for Jimmy
i had so much fun watching this movie oh my god, oh my god
isn't it funny how being anti-cop & anti-ice is a universal statement but being anti-military is a taboo that will get you called a classist. isn't it interesting how we only judge systems of power when they harm americans but they are not that bad if they affect the global south
The reality is people are not nice to disabled kids, even slightly awkward kids, ask any parent with an autistic child how teachers, majority of teachers are towards them, how schools treat them..
