The sleeper team in the WNBA playoffs is going to be the Washington Mystics. Really well constructed roster and I love the trio of Sonia Citron, Kiki Iriafen and Shakira Austin. Especially how consistently you can count on them.

I’ve always said that Angel Reese’s ceiling is literally A’ja Wilson. Love that she’s expanding her game beyond the arc. This off-season I want to see her do some midrange work while continuing to improve her 3 and her touch around the rim. 3 level Angel would be unstoppable.

I’ve been trying to identify what changed for the Atlanta Dream offensively. I’m thinking that in the half court they are playing with more pace and both hesitating less and being more decisive.

For the #WNBAFinals I’m predicting

3 Las Vegas Aces over 4 Atlanta Dream.

This should be a great 6 or 7 game series. Hurts my heart to pick the Dream to lose yet another Finals series but A’ja Wilson always finds other levels to other levels. Can’t bet against that.

Semi Finals I’m picking

4 Atlanta Dream over 1 Minnesota Lynx

3 Las Vegas Aces over 2 Golden State Valkyries

Both of these series will be an extremely tight 5 games and could swing either way. I am not sold on either of these picks.

1 Minnesota Lynx over 8 Indiana Fever in 2 games.

4 Atlanta Dream over 5 Washington Mystics in a tight 3 games

2 Golden State Valkyries over 7 New York Liberty in 2 games

The New York Liberty won the season series vs Washington Mystics 2-1 while losing the season series 2-1 vs the Dallas Wings and again won their only matchup vs the Atlanta Dream. They could potentially slide to the 8th seed and move up as high as 4.

This season Atlanta, won vs Indy, 2-1 they lost the vs the youngins 2-1, swept Dallas 3-0 and lost their only matchup vs New York. Meaning they could side all the way to 7. Though unlikely they could also move up in the standings if we see major collapses from the top 3 teams.

New York seems to have been coming into to form and Stewie definitley benefited from the extra reps in FIBA play. Atlanta has turned a corner, their shots were starting fall more consistently before the break and Angel Reese found another gear after the overtime loss to Indiana.

Then we have the Atlanta Dream and New York Liberty. Respectively they have Chicago and Toronto before a home and home with one another that should be the most entertaining games to close out the season.
