One of the most glaring intellectual inconsistencies/blatant hypocrisies in the anti-AI ideology is the expectation they have that I must martyr my own income and work to protect their pricing power within their chosen field, but must abandon that same collectivist reasoning when we get to the notion that their market instability is part of what potentially allows more people to now enter that field downstream of constraints lifting.

For example: “If you use AI for your book cover instead of hiring an illustrator then you are immoral!” This idea is expecting me to think from a collectivist altruistic perspective and put their financial wellbeing before my own (like reducing costs for myself), which is already wildly unreasonable and far outside the realm of my actual responsibility……however when it comes to the notion that their pricing power diminishing within their field due to skill/production constraints lifting thanks to AI can result in collective good in the form of more people now having the opportunity to enter that field and earn income, now the expectation is for me to ignore the potential for collective net good there in order to once again protect antis’ market position against price floors changing.

Please explain to me why I must take responsibility for your financial wellbeing, and only yours and not my own or the collective populations’? Why is your livelihood being displaced/affected an existential threat, but tons of other people being able to work in that field as a Downstream effect of that also an existential threat despite the net positive? Is it only about you?
