To every delegate, every party member, every mother, father, youth, and elder who stood with me at the primaries - thank you. Thank you for the massive show of support. Thank you for the love. Thank you for the trust you placed in me again.

I do not take this for granted. Not for one second and this is one of the reasons I won’t relent in making you proud.

When I first came to serve, I promised to carry your burdens, to be accessible, to be your voice in Abuja, and to deliver real results. Today you have judged that work and said: “Okey Joe, keep going.” That vote of confidence humbles me deeply.

Now the primaries are done. The campaigning for our party’s mandate is over. What remains is the real work.

Now is time to build, my dear people. Build more roads for our mothers who trek to market. Build more classrooms for our children. Bring more light to our streets. Create more jobs for our youths. Dear football,

Today, I want to share with you that this season will be my last as a professional footballer. After so many years living my dream, I feel it’s time to start a new chapter in my life.

Being honest, even though I have been preparing myself for this moment, I found it hard to write this letter. After 20 seasons , many people have played an important role in my career.

When I first kicked a ball as a child in Pamplona with my schoolmates, I never imagined the amazing journey ahead. I’m grateful for every moment: the wins, the tough losses, the challenges, and most of all, the people I’ve met and the friendships I’ve made along the way.
