We agree @calilyliu . At least when it comes to Solana.
But let me ask the real question, Did gaming die, or was Solana never ready for it?

We built a game. Started on BSC. Deposits confirmed in seconds, withdrawals smooth, fee calculations clean. We had a working product in weeks.
Then we said let's expand, let's add Solana support.

Deposit verification on BSC, Check the Transfer event log, verify the contract address, done.
Deposit verification on Solana, Parse the entire transaction. Find the right token account. Calculate pre/post balance diff. Handle multiple token accounts. And pray the RPC doesn't timeout.

On Solana, a confirmed transaction sometimes... disappears.
Yes. Confirmed. Disappears.
Think about that for a second in a gaming context. Player's item shows as confirmed, then it's gone. Support ticket comes in. Bro my money vanished. Bro is right :D

On BSC we connected to the RPC, it worked.
On Solana we burned through 3 different RPC providers. One returns stale data, one hits rate limits, one gives different results depending on when you ask. Half the Stack Overflow answers are already outdated because @solana/web3.js changed its API again last week.

And then there's this,
Open the game through Solana's most popular wallet browser. Doesn't work. Slow. Freezes.
Open it through Trust Wallet. Flies.
Same game. Same code. Different Solana experience.

Lily Liu says gaming is not coming back.
Maybe what she actually meant was,
Gaming never came to Solana in the first place.

Despite these challenges, some developers are still trying to create something within Solana, and without the ridiculous token minting process of P2E. But things are very difficult with this network.
