Forever Young not only getting an Uma statue already but also being displayed this Breeders Cup where he tries to defend his Classic title is crazy
This is like if LeBron had a statue of himself at a Finals Game 7 hes playing in
@fallen_orchids many at the time considered Pasa as the strongest of the golden gen, so the show rewrote the race as a dead heat to show how dominant she was whilst also respect Spe's Derby win.
ECP is one of the main reasons why foreign breds are allowed in JRA Classic races from 2001 onward.
@fallen_orchids This is one of my favorite scenes from season 1 because it shows an "alternate" history if El Condor Pasa was able to compete in the Japan Derby (in real life, he was barred from the race due to being a foreign-bred). 1/2
@cengime@HedonismBot17@GigachadessMain a large part of doing that was because the US cannot be assed to deal with unrest in Japan if the emperor was tried and hanged, whilst the issue of both Korea and the possibility of war with the Soviet Union loomed large.
@Hollerite@kindaveryfurry@longlongfern@GigachadessMain this is not how it worked out to be at all. MacArthur and the US kept Hirohito alive because they could not deal with potential unrest in Japan while the issue of Korea and the Soviet Union exist. The US had every power to try Hirohito but didn't for strategic reasons.
One of the craziest parts about Sunday Silence being introduced to the Japanese bloodstock was that his impact was so significant that multiple G1 winning, triple crown winning bloodlines were almost completely snuffed out. His offsprings far exceeded anything Japan had prior.
@theaugusthail agree on a story/timeline basis but also Rance 01 is a tough sell for the gameplay, while Sengoku is genuinely one of the best strategy games I've played
@rdrisms the Shadai group dominance is so strong, there's betting/POG game angles that look for Shadai bred 2 y/os with certain trainers
For the 2026/2027 season, 2/3s of my POGs are Shadai-bred.
Top 9 anime that shaped who I am:
Some shows here are not my all-time favorites, but more what shaped my taste in media and my personal interest in the last 10+ years of watching anime
It's been a journey since starting out with the Angel Beats English dub back in 2012
the 9 anime that shaped me the most!
i chose anime that helped me develop my taste, discover who i am, deeply resonated with me, and made the largest impact on me as a person!
Genshiken is probably one of the more recent shows I've watched, but so much of that show aligns with my taste that I cannot believe I haven't watched it sooner and easily one of my favorite shows oat
