@politicalmath The Republican's punishment for ballot harvesting would be very different from the Democrat’s. For him to ballot harvest was mere misbehavior, tradition, he didn’t know any better. But for the Republican to ballot harvest would be ‘election interference.’
@KafkeKretz@smolbep@Neko_Tet@ymmayerr 150g raw is actually a fairly small single chicken breast. In the US at least, packaged chicken breast is typically minimum 360g for two breasts, and 500g is not unusual.
@tbarty03@jared_shult They worked for 40 years and never saved anything? Sounds like they should have tightened their belts and cut out the avocado toast.
I just calculated solar radiation flux for a 1000 square foot roof at 45 degrees latitude in the summer, I didn’t bother adding convection from the air or radiation on the walls or through windows. Roofs are pretty dark, so they should be absorbing like 90% of that.
Regardless, if you assume it’s 90kW, over a day that’s like 1000 kWh from the sun vs your claimed 53 kWh from humans and electricity.
The now-deleted comment that the person I replied to was replying to stated that a house is different from a person in a coat. I was supporting that assertion by calculating that the heat load that you are trying to keep out is much much greater than the heat load from the occupants.
If the person in a coat had a personal cooling system that could extract the heat load from their body heat, they could actually be cooler wearing a thick parka on a sunny beach day.
@CyborgPeds Why is it such a big deal to change the clocks twice a year? You're a little tired for like a day in the spring and in the fall you get a bonus hour.
In exchange, you get an extra hour of daylight in the evening for 8 months out of the year.
Why is this such a burden?
@physicsgeek@alexthechick Well, for me it’s because the discourse is always “here’s a proposal to reduce taxes on my favored special interest group” (which I am never a part of) and never “here’s a proposal to cut the budget in half.”
