Its kind of weird that the career advancement path for software engineering seems to move to, and reward, more manager-type roles, rather than deepening technical knowledge. Like, what if I just want to go deeper into the matrix?
When @DasSurma asks, you gotta deliver..!
Messed around with the Facemesh @TensorFlow model and some calculation of vector magnitude to build a thing where you can zoom in/out with your eyebrows 🤨
I learnt that I can't lift my right eyebrow by itself... 😂
@passle_ I share the same sentiments. Also started to fiddle with Rust recently. Most of the concepts in Rust are fairly new to me, but the book was really great. Still wrapping my head around the ownership model though 😬
@AliAbdaal how would you describe the exp of reading technical books (mostly programming) on a Kindle? May main concern is the formatting since there are code snippets, considering the size of the average Kindle
Going to be harsh now:
I don’t care if the variable name takes you longer to type.
Intellisense is there for you to use.
Don’t choose development convenience over long term readability. #DevDiscuss
@passle_ I have a 24inch Dell on my home desk. I’ve set it up vertically a couple of times, mostly for vscode, though w/ its stock stand (and probably my desk height) I find it sometimes that the top edge is too high. I might try a monitor arm to see if that makes a difference
