In serious, dar, tragic stories those kind of thing is usually reserved for fancfiction.
And that is what Genshin started feel to me: a stupid aff fanfic written by a 13 y/o schoolgirl.
My problem with the "new lore" of the fatui is that from the very beginning the fatui were presented as one of the main villain fraction of the story (also the story continues to remind us about that via Paimon's lines) ->
I do not say that villains can't have a day-to-day, "normal" life, be friends, have pyjama parties and so on.
What I say is: showing that destroys the narrative. Genshin's story genre isn't a comedy (even if the Fatui are literally named after commedia dell arte characters)
Imagine that Frodo throws the ring into the fire but it does nothing because as it turns out Elrond and Gandalf were the unreliable narrators the entire time and the ring cannot be destroyed at Mount Doom
Честно меня так бесит, когда компашку серьезных персонажей, с миллионом преступлений, с нулевой эмпатией и сожалением, в какой-то момент показывают как глупеньких и счастливых детей

Starting from Sumeru, fanservice is so much overdone and done lazily and sloppily.
Every character has their assigned +1, and while okay why not, but their whole personality is so much interdependent that people can't even take them as a standalone character anymore.
