@charliebadger99 I picked up Ringo's latest the same day as Paul's last week. I've been listening to Paul's pretty much nonstop. There's so much going on that it takes repeated listening. But last night I gave it a break. On my second listen through of Ringo's.
The President of the United States is asleep at his desk. Again.
Behind him stand seven grown adults in expensive suits, and not one of them is doing anything about it. One is mid-sentence. Another is gazing sideways with the haunted look of a man whose pension depends on never acknowledging what he can see in his peripheral vision.
The rest of the world is watching, and the rest of the world has noticed something. Americans are terrified of authority. That fear has settled over this administration like a fog, and it turns otherwise functional adults into warm furniture. Nobody moves. Nobody speaks. The paralysis is total.
In any European parliament, in any boardroom from Oslo to Ljubljana, someone would have leaned over by now. Tapped a shoulder. Said, quietly but clearly, that perhaps this isnโt the moment. Somebody would have done something, because the alternative, pretending a sleeping man is running a meeting, would have been too absurd to sustain.
Not here. Here, seven men have collectively decided that the correct professional response to the President losing consciousness in the Oval Office is to carry on as though he were a particularly demanding houseplant.
@ipp4faa@WhiteHouse@brokebackUSA@POTUS@SecretaryBurgum@Interior You mean, like storming the Capitol on J6 and spreading your feces on the walls? Or demolishing the East Wing? Or desecrating the South Lawn so some freakazoids can fight in their underwear on the 250th anniversary of our country?
@EricIdle Your brilliant idea that politicians should wear sponsor logos came up today on The @Thom_Hartmann Program. I believe it was @alaw202 of @SSWorks filling in for Thom today.
Anyway, credit where credit's due!
Thanks Dave. I have a few stories about this I can tell them on
stage. I never minded Robin using anything I said. I wasnโt working as a stand up and it was fun to hear the audience laughing at my line. And he was beyond generous to me.
๐จ SPIELBERG CONFIRMS VARGINHA ET RECOVERY?! ๐ฝ๐ง๐ท
Legendary director Steven Spielberg just dropped that he knows details on Brazilโs 1996 Varginha UFO crash, stating the US military quickly extracted two non human beings (one alive) after the incident.
Eyewitnesses described red eyed creatures with oily skin and head horns. A military officer who handled one died mysteriously weeks later.
With his new UFO film Disclosure Day dropping soon, this feels like soft disclosure. Hollywood insider with gov ties validating NHI retrieval? The Varginha case (Jan 1996) just got massive credibility!!
Game changer for UAP/NHI truth. ๐
@pavementoyster@hammersmikey@charliebadger99@vrpj I picture a very young, perhaps shy, lovestruck Paul. I'm intrigued. Do we know the name of the subject of this song? They only met once? Is she still alive? Imagine her surprise if she's listening today!
Do you guys have similar memories of childhood crushes?
If only there were an alternative @Freedom250 concert scheduled on the same day. Sure, it might draw the ire of the #MAGA morons amongst us who would undoubtedly call it "unpatriotic" or "treasonous" even, but, you know, "Alternative Super Bowl Half Time Show!"
The Freedom250 concert now appears to be turning into a Trump rally, featuring Lee Greenwood, an opera singer serenading him with his favorite songs, and a speech from Trump himself: "We don't want singers with no talent, we've told them all to stay home."
This remains one of the few times a journalist stood up to the orange fascist with a simple question: โDo you regret all the lying you've done to the American people?"

Somebody was killed yesterday by a speeding car just outside the window from where I'm writing. Well, a block down the avenue. It could have been me. Life is uncertain.
@EricIdle@KathyWoodhood And now trashy @ufc on the South Lawn of The @WhiteHouse for the nation's 250th anniversary? How classy is that?!!
Hint: Not very, to say the least
