The replies to this are insane, in every sense of the word. When it comes to guns the rest of the world looks at the USA and says "what the actual fuck?" so loud I'm surprised y'all can't hear it over the sound of the gunfire
Six years ago was March For Our Lives/ largest student protest in American history to demand action on gun violence. Since the NRA has lost over 1 million members and March For Our Lives has gained over a million. We’ve had the highest rates of youth voter turned out in American history and passed hundreds of gun laws. But we still have so much more work to do. Gun deaths have gone up over 5000 annually since Parkland. The movement and gun violence is failing. And the reason the movement is failing is not because the movement is broken. It’s because our government is broken. We have to put in the work and fix it. We need more people to run for office no single person is going to save us. We have to save us.
I have 3 clipper lighters I am emotionally attached to, one of them I have had for at least 10 years and has an old school round sparker wheel. They are very satisfyingly reusable/maintainable objects.
The Independent is a now joke of a newspaper that is neither news, nor available on paper in any meaningful way. What used to be something I trusted is now on the same level as, and a significant chunk of, Facebook ads.
@philsturgeon have you experienced the utter pointlessness of the Chester Rd/Washway Rd/Cross St cycle lane in South Manc yet? entire lane of over-stressed trunk road coned off with a parallel canal towpath about 200ft away... guess where the cyclists (including me) actually go :-P
Huw Merriman, the Tory rail minister, admitted today that the govt has spent more money fighting railway workers than it would have cost to settle the dispute.
