Hello, London! 🇬🇧🇰🇪
I have been in this city many times before, but today felt different.
As Kenya Airways flight KQ 100, under the command of Capt. Murithi Nyaga, gently touched down at London Heathrow, I was filled with a profound sense of pride—arriving aboard our national carrier, carrying with it the very best of Kenya 🇰🇪. From fresh flowers and vegetables to tea and coffee, the aircraft delivered a rich cargo that speaks to Kenya’s excellence and global contribution. I was equally inspired by the outstanding service delivered by the Kenya Airways crew.
Beyond the journey itself, I felt the excitement in anticipating the #partnerships we will strengthen and forge—with the United Kingdom 🇬🇧, the Kenyan diaspora, and friends of Kenya. And, admittedly, a deep sense of responsibility as I reflected on the opportunity God has given us to serve and further strengthen our bilateral relations.
What a fitting start it has been. I was warmly welcomed by colleagues from the Kenya High Commission in London—including the Charge d’Affaires Ali Mambo, Deputy Head of Mission Amb. Warui, and First Counsellor Fidel Ongute—together with the Special Representative of the UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Mr. Nicholas Jarrold.
I truly feel at home!
