@k1rallik their marketing budget must have been insane because they had both non-targeted and targeted marketing campaigns all over social media for a very long time
@ProfDBernstein I know someone that just graduated from Maurer. They may have been living in a very cushy apartment (price-wise) but they were still taking on multiple jobs last summer and thru some of the regular sem. They're not undergrad levels of poor, but not all are well-to-do
@johnhboyer Please keep doing this because 3 out of the other 4 members in my group "discussion" are using AI to write their discussion posts and I'm actually getting pissed off that they're getting an A even though "collaborate" in the Google Doc at 11:40pm right before its due
@liminal_warmth@seconds_0 There's literally hundreds of local replacements out there which is the thing. Handy, etc.
I genuinely don't understand how wispr flow got so popular off marketing and womm alone
@stevenyfeng in my experience AI slop is slowly taking over undergraduate CS "academia" (symposiums and the like) and it's genuinely like, what can you even do about it at this point, so are actual PhD students anyways, drives me nuts
@AaronBergman18 If you see Chegg's currently running ad campaigns, 1) they're not even running targeted ads, 2) their ads are not in any way, shape, or form going to sway the average undergraduate/graduate student who has access to chatgpt
Sorry for schizoposting, rant over
@AaronBergman18 Chegg will be bought out within the next 5 years for its invaluable training data for AI purposes. Why else would they be paying off heir humongous debt and firing nearly all employees? They don't want to be a "toxic" company to buy (no one wants to take on extra debt)
