@fadedanddemoted i often hit a casual "huh?" or "what?" if its a stranger, family gets a nice loud "HUH?" that sounds similar to a goose or if its not an appropriate situation to be funny in i do a "im so sorry i cant hear you very well" and if its a crying situation i just kinda whimper instead
