❓ What side of T.O.P did you discover that the public might not truly know yet?

🤓 I discovered actually that there is no other side of TOP. Like in the studio, as we’re working together. He’s a very genuine person. There is no persona or public, you know, figure or mask that he’s wearing. We took out some of my cars and went for joyrides together. We went to dinner together, and we had a great time here in LA. So yeah, he’s just a genuine guy.

❓What made you realize that this project would be different from others?
🤓 Well normally an artist has their entire life to live and then they’re gonna make their first album. Then when it comes time to do the second one, they only have a limited amount of time to really experience life which then gets poured into the album, right? So the syndrome of having an entire life to put into the first one is not happening here because TOP has been making music publicly for 20 years. So we’re gonna get to experience a very big established artist’s first album. 20 years in their career, very different!

❓ What kind of conversations did you have regarding the album's sound?
🤓 Since the very beginning, TOP and I and Jackpot had a lot of conversations about the philosophy of the sonics landscape of the album, right? We had a lot of talks about how we want this to be feeling like a big stadium music, or like a movie presentation, where there’s a beginning, a development and a closing of the entire piece. And of course, there’s different episodes meaning different scenes meaning different tracks in the project, but we wanted to have it have a signature sound for the entire project. I think we accomplished that.

🤓 My immediate impression of TOP is that this guy is absolutely fascinated with art. He loves art, he’s a deep person. He cares about his craft and his fans. His music of course. He has a vision and he wants to make sure that that vision is implemented in the music that we made. What a fun guy man. We’ve been laughing and stuff so yeah great guy

❓How did you come to work on his album?

🤓 Very simple actually. His people hit up my people. We had a meeting of minds. I got to hear some of the songs that he was working on, love them, that’s when I committed, and here we are.
