@OneDayOfCrypto @travolty_dcera @jezeqster The SPD transformed to XYZ with colour matching functions.
Then transformed to linear RGB and finally converted to sRGB with a gamma transfer function.

@OneDayOfCrypto Hey! Took a while for me too see your message. It was a while ago but I'll share what I can. I believe "Practical Pigment Mixing for Digital Painting" (by @travolty_dcera and @jezeqster) was one paper I referenced. It has a reasonably thorough background on KM.
@OneDayOfCrypto @travolty_dcera @jezeqster To show the reflectance spectrum on screen it needs to be converted into srgb. I'll just list the steps, feel free to ask for details.
Illuminating the reflectrance spec, i.e. multiply it by the incoming light gives you a spectral power distribution (SPD). I used D65 above.
Experimenting with mixing colour, trying to approximate real pigments. Kubelka-Munk theory is one approach based on absorption and scattering across the visible spectrum.
Lovely green from KM.

Thank you @patricia_klein_, so happy you like itโค๏ธ. I definitely spent quite a bit of time zoomed in on snowflakes during development.

I have always wanted to creating a toy fluid sim of my own one day. I had an idea for a project which could use it so today was the day.

@scriptin Thank you so much! Getting 2/3 hexagonal plates is a bit unlucky, I still like them though. During development I had a large portion of hexagons so a tiny bit of machine learning filters out ~70% of hexagons.

@scriptin Hi! It is indeed based on Gravner-Griffeath. Webgl helps performance immensely. I also use symmetry so the simulation area is only 1 / 12 of the snowflake. This does preclude differences between branches but the performance benefit was significant.
Symmetry and Intricacy is open for minting!

Render in high resolution to see play of light through the crystal.

I am using the HSLuv colour space when generating colours schemes. Works well as I need control over luminance and it has an easier to work with range compared to CIELUV. Hopefully I'll get some harmonious and some surprising colour combinations. #generativeart
