‘Champagne, Cocktails and Crêpes Suzette’ and ‘From Dirt and Dips to Dryrobes’ are now on sale in Dalkey, Monkstown and Dún Laoghaire. Thanks @IRDesignGallery @HewettNewsagent and Dalkey News. #books#localhistory#DunLaoghaire
@ShaneBeattyNews I remember years ago there were a lot of hoax bomb scares on Friday afternoons. The school I attended announced that we had missed a lot of class time and would be attending school on Saturdays to make up for this. And that was the end of the threats!
@Clearpreso We built beautiful Lido style baths before, why can’t we follow the example of the UK where they are restoring historic lidos instead of demolishing them?
@MaryKenny4@ConceptDairy@annetted1234 I love Lidl breads but they are “finished off” in the bakery each day rather than baked from scratch. The sourdough and country loaf are delicious.
@spacehuman@BuzzingPop There were a lot of Irish people in Liverpool at the time and they were often described in a derogatory manner as “gypsies”, i.e. people of no fixed abode and darker than the traditional upper class British society. Yes, Colin Farrell would have made a great Heathcliff.
@GabbyMonaghan@Independent_ie “Irish writing has always had a particular texture – the rhythm of Irish English, the way dialogue sits on the page, the unexpected word choice that's absolutely right.” Super article Gabrielle.
@DonaldClarke63 Sure, reinventions can be brilliant e.g. Romeo + Juliet. I’ve always had a theory that Heathcliff is Mr Earnshaw’s illegitimate son, hard to get my head around this new Cathy is his half-sister.
@OHanlonEilis Great suggestions but I can’t record BBC anymore on new Vodafone set box. I could use a VPN on laptop but really want to access iPlayer on television. So much good stuff on BBC late at night.
@slinehan1 After many years on Strictly, Katya was finally paired with somebody who could match her energy, creativity, brilliant choreography, she is a genius. Thank you and Lewis for the most iconic, memorable, historic moments on Strictly, ever.
Watching the 2 best dancers compete against each other should have been a final, not a dance off. Gutted for both of them. #Strictly#StrictlyComeDancng
@rtenews Very sad news. Hugh was a brilliant tv presenter and an absolute gentleman. He did more work than any other human being to promote our architectural heritage. Heaven will be a more beautiful colourful place now.
I’ve started a new walking tour along Dún Laoghaire seafront and harbour. Please tell any friends/visitors who might be interested. @DLRTourism@dlrheritevents#DunLaoghaire
