RED ROCKS COLORADO 🇺🇲 Show 36
This show was special for so many who missed the 2023 show due to the hail storm. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is such a unique place as it wasn't built from scratch. The venue is naturally formed between two massive red sandstone monoliths, Ship Rock and Creation Rock, creating world renowned acoustics and some of the most breathtaking scenery imaginable. Many artists consider performing there a career milestone, and tonight it was easy to understand why Louis seemed in awe of the place and so proud to perform there❗️
The venue elevated every moment of Louis' show. His vocals carried beautifully through the natural acoustics, while the crowd played their part perfectly. Defenceless was a special moment, with the crowd fully embracing their role in the song. During Bigger Than Me, thousands of voices shouting "never" (after call me liar) echoed around the natural rock formations, creating a powerful moment that could only happen at a venue like Red Rocks. Night Changes sounded hauntingly beautiful as Louis surprised fans by stepping into the crowd to perform. Dark to Light showcased backing harmonies that could be heard so clearly, while the acoustics made Sunflower feel incredibly vivid. Lucid echoed throughout the entire amphitheatre, its layered vocals and reverberations creating an almost dreamlike atmosphere that seemed to wash over the crowd.
One of the standout visual moments was seeing the "?" and "How Did We Get Here" projections illuminated on the rocks that surrounded the arena, adding to the magic of the setting.
Tonight's outfit was courtesy of Casablanca: the Football Windbreaker Logo Appliquéd Mesh Jacket paired with Straight-Leg Mesh-Trimmed Shell Shorts.
The crowd was exceptionally vocal all night. Every pause between songs was filled with appreciation, and of course, chants for No Control rang out across the venue.
After Last Night, Louis brought out Send Me Under for its live debut, and it sounded incredible. Before the song, he picked up a sheet of paper and unsuccessfully tried to attach it to his microphone stand. Considering it was the first time he'd ever performed the song live, fans couldn't help but wonder if it was the lyrics. 🤣
Fan interactions were plentiful throughout the night, with Louis constantly pointing around the crowd and acknowledging fans across the amphitheatre. His sunglasses became a talking point after he admitted he "couldn't see shit" while wearing them. During Lucid, he lifted them to get a better look at something that had caught his attention in the crowd, accompanied by a brief middle-finger moment. During Kill My Mind, he was spotted kicking a football off the stage. It wouldn't be a Louis show without footballs making an appearance, especially during World Cup season.
His final speech brought all the emotions. Louis spoke about how grateful he is for the fans and said that every fan should feel a sense of responsibility for what they have done for him and for the life he has now. It was a reminder of just how much he values this fanbase and never takes their support for granted. He finished by declaring that we are his "fucking superpower."
Louis, you are ours too ❤️
With the venue's open layout, there was no barricade, allowing the setting to remain as natural and immersive as possible.
There are hardly any words to fully capture the awe of Red Rocks, the show, the visuals, and Louis himself. The acoustics were on another level, and you could tell how much Louis loved performing there. As much as we loved watching it, he seemed to love every second of being on that stage. More than anything, this felt like the venue that this album was made for. The scale, the atmosphere, the natural acoustics, and the emotion of the songs all came together to create something truly special.
Red Rocks, we're so glad you finally got the show you were meant to have after missing out in 2023 ❤️
