Working collaboratively to enhance our financial future, we provided invaluable support to beneficiaries in accessing their salaries through ATMs. Witnessing their satisfaction as they withdrew their funds is a source of such a great glory and honor for us.
The capital of the Kurdistan Region has finally overcome 30-year challenges. Erbil now enjoys:
• Water:✔️
• 24-hour electricity:✔️
• Access to cash (ATM network):✔️
Prime Minister @masrourbarzani plans to launch several other initiatives to improve service delivery across the region. As he said earlier today, citizen satisfaction is at the heart of the cabinet's agenda.
On #WorldEnvironmentDay, let’s take a look at how the Runaki project is cleaning up Kurdistan’s emissions and air and noise pollution, as well as providing 24-hour electricity.
Runaki has already led to the removal of 1,260 neighbourhood generators across Erbil, Slemani, and Duhok. This has reduced CO₂ emissions by 240,000 tons annually, matching the environmental benefit of removing 250,000 cars from circulation.
Runaki is helping to eliminate fuel-storage risks in residential areas and freeing up land once occupied by noisy, high-emission generators.
The environmental and health benefits are notable.
Runaki has stopped the dumping of used oil and wastewater into the soil, saved over 1 million cubic meters of cooling water, and significantly reduced noise pollution levels that previously exceeded legal limits by up to 100%.
Looking ahead, full implementation by the end of 2026 could reduce 1.4 million tons of CO₂ emissions annually—4% of Kurdistan’s total.
This is a milestone achievement in line with the KRG’s broader environmental sustainability goals.
More than 1 million citizens across the Kurdistan Region have 24-hour electricity, thanks to the Runaki project. By the end of next year, it will reach all areas of Kurdistan.
Happy World Environment Day

Update on #MyAccount: Over 11,000 civil servants and pensioners registered in Slemani today.
In the last month, more than 60,000 people on the KRG payroll have registered for the KRG’s financial inclusion project.
This is true.
Registration figures for KRG's financial inclusion initiative #MyAccount have soared in Suli.
In a few months, tens of thousands of civil servants and pensioners will never have to queue outside public buildings again.
Financial freedom means Kurdistanis will take control of their own finances — and enjoy global commerce.

The Dabin Cement and Power Plant:
• 2.1m tons of cement annually
• 52 MW electricity output
• 1,200+ jobs created
This is on the back of our diversification agenda — and we’re staying the course.
Leyla Qasim (1952–1974), executed by the Ba’ath regime with her fellow martyrs—a symbol of courage, pride and resilience of Kurdish women—a shining example of women’s strength in the face of tyranny and oppression in the world.
Today, we remember & honor them with deep respect.
Prime Minister @masrourbarzani spent the day in Duhok — chatting with families and shopkeepers enjoying uninterrupted 24/7 power under #Runaki.
Biggest benefit: peace of mind for families and increased output for businesses.

Prime Minister @masrourbarzani is in Duhok today, visiting households and small businesses to hear their feedback on the KRG’s 24/7 power initiative.
The KRG has promised to provide 24/7 electricity to all citizens by the end of 2026.

Tonight, 14 new neighborhoods in Erbil and Slemani will switch to 24/7 electricity under the KRG’s #Runaki programme.
This means reliable, affordable and clean national power to another 42,000 homes and businesses - reaching over 100,000 more people. To date, more than 150,000 homes and businesses across the Kurdistan Region have made the switch to 24/7 power.
Over 700 diesel-powered neighbourhood generators have already been turned off in Erbil, Slemani and Duhok — the equivalent to removing 125,000 vehicles from the roads.
We're on track to complete Erbil’s city center (within the 120m Ring Road) by next month. Suli, Duhok and Halabja are also on track to finish by the end of the year.
We're exploring ways to accelerate the programme in all four city centers to ease the summer burden on our people.
Prime Minister @masrourbarzani announced plans last year to move the whole of the Kurdistan Region to 24/7 power by the end of 2026. This will happen.
We commend the team in the Ministry of Electricity for their commitment and support to the programme.

Prime Minister @masrourbarzani will meet PUK leader @Bafeltalabani at the Dukan resort later today.
This will be their third meeting. These bilateral meetings have helped build trust and break negotiation deadlocks.
We want to see a new KRG cabinet formed as quickly as possible.

Prime Minister @masrourbarzani is in Suli for talks with PUK leader @Bafeltalabani on ways to accelerate government formation.
This gentleman was one of over 3,000 pensioners who turned up in Ainkawa today to collect their new bank cards.
They will soon be paid digitally in their bank accounts as part of a pilot under the KRG’s financial inclusion programme, #MyAccount.
Over the next few months, tens of thousands of pensioners will no longer queue for hours outside government buildings to receive their pensions. Those horrible images will be a thing of the past.
#MyAccount agents will support them throughout this journey, helping them transition to a new model that appreciates and respects their long service to the land.

Prime Minister @masrourbarzani: The majority of households in the #Runaki programme pay less than they did with national power+private generators.
All four city centres — Erbil, Suli, Duhok and Halabja — will enjoy 24/7 power by end of this year.
The whole of the Kurdistan Region moves to 24/7 by the end of 2026.
