"We often falsely equate confidence — most often, the type demonstrated by white male leaders — with competence and leadership. Employees who can’t (or won’t) conform to male-biased social styles are told they have imposter syndrome."
"The answer to overcoming imposter syndrome is not to fix individuals but to create an environment that fosters a variety of leadership styles and in which diverse racial, ethnic, and gender identities are seen as just as professional as the current model"

I remember when Raab told me that upskirting was bad whether it was a person taking photo up someone skirt or a skirt taking photos up someone’s people
We all know 'family first' here really means 'women first.' Women are already doing the largest % of unpaid care work and what better way to force them back into their oppressed caregiving roles fulltime with the bonus of absolving the government of all burdensome responsibility
For my fellow Exeter alumni (and anyone else who feels moved to do so), please consider signing this petion asking the University and @ExeterGuild to take action against the society.

As an alumna I'm very upset to hear about the recently formed pro-life society at @UniofExeter. While universities should be a safe space for healthy debate and intellectual curisosity, the blatant misogyny and attack on women's right fostered by this society cannot be tolerated.

From a child reading their first words to a researcher expanding the frontiers of their field, OUP advances knowledge and learning of all kinds. But the world—and the needs of our education and research—are constantly evolving, and so are we. https://t.co/T8cbqy35km
The trouble with hardcore focusing for 10 minutes is that I realize how quickly I could get through my to do list if I kept it up and then I become intimidated by my own potential.

I love it when my German boyfriend's friends don't know I speak German because that way they are only ever pleasantly surprised on introduction at my pathetic linguistic skills as opposed to mildly disappointed.
Sent this to a few friends recently. @matthaig1 has distilled so much of the "I don't know what to say" human complexity into something we can share in a single moment. The skill involved to create seemingly "simple" paragraphs is why he's double charting most weeks. Thanks Matt.
