@idonotexistelol Unirionically I wish I could go back and retroactively amend like 90% of my review scores.
One of my least favourite experiences in recent years, Silent Hill F, I gave a 6.5. At the time that felt very low. Now? I'd legitimately give that game like a 3/10. I'm too generous..
@mamimiFLCL So true, boo!
That's what I've been doing. I've been trying to power through my absolutely immense backlog, which is half the reason I post exclusively game reviews on my Twitter page now. I figured I might aswell make a writing hobby out of it too!
@ziiwizz@idonotexistelol Just now on Twitter? Link?
Also I'm not surprised, there's only about 50 things launching in September. Dawnwalker, Onimusha, Silent Hill, Wolverine...
@ziiwizz@idonotexistelol ILL has piqued my interest for a very long time, game legitimately seems to be one of the weirdest, most bizarre titles in a very long time. Those procedural animations are straight out of 7th Gen R* titles. Can't wait.
Also Phantom Blade 0 looks cool
@alphalicent Suits Robert's personality more to hoof it through the woods with only his closest friends and family as opposed to a big hunting party of like 100 people tbh
@Cookies27Cream Without trying to sound too reductive, I was expecting/ hoping for more than chest-high-wall stealth, contextual takedowns, and using (An admittedly low number of gadgets) to overload vents, laptops and other electricals..
As I said, I feel like I've played this game 100 times.
007: First Light (2026)✅
Fun, but it feels like I’ve already played this exact game many times before - with less depth and flexibility than I was hoping for.
But Gibson’s portrayal of Bond is great!
He definitely deserves role of 007 beyond just the game world.
7/10
@mamimiFLCL Tears is one of my favourite Zelda titles that I sadly never actually got around to beating. I put like 100 hours in and had to sell my Switch sadly.
But I just recently reacquired an unopened Totk OLED Switch and got all of my old game library back. So soon hopefully!
@mamimiFLCL So you had a legitimate sense of discovery throughout the world.
Not just in 'Where can I go next?' but also 'How can I use the world to my design to achieve that?'
Tears of the Kingdom brings it another step higher. Simply unparalleled, even now
@mamimiFLCL Yeah, definitely. I just beat Biomutant, and it was the antithesis of good open world design.
Bloated with buddycamps, fetchquests, etc etc.
The better open worlds at least do a good job hiding that stuff.
BOTW was genius in how it disguised so much as actual utility
@mamimiFLCL I suppose the point I was trying to make was, even though 007 only takes..On average 15 hours? I've been struggling to finish the last two chapters as my interest has begun to wane pretty heavily
Sometimes all you need is a mindlessly big open world timesink of a game to play!
@mamimiFLCL Depends. They both serve their own respective purpose.
In retrospect, Assassins Creed Odyssey was anything but focused, but I think back to it often. Just a game to get totally lost in when time permits.
Sometimes a focused but short game can feel even longer or drawn out
