And something I noticed with this conversation is that we tend to take the people closest to us for granted. People are often more mindful and considerate with strangers than they are with friends and loved ones because they assume closeness means less effort is required. Meanwhile, those are actually the relationships that need the most reciprocity and care. Just because someone is your friend doesn’t mean you should stop offering help, contributing, or being thoughtful.
