Does Uthman Farooq consult anyone before making major decisions in daʿwah, such as debating slanderous, vile, dishonest Christian apologists who will inevitably clip the debate and milk it for anti-Islam content?

May Allah have mercy on our father, the founder of the UAE, HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He said:

“Anyone who remains silent about something wrong I have done, while believing otherwise is correct, then (firstly) Allah is my witness; and all of you are my witnesses; that the sin is upon him, not upon me.”

Meaning: Do not remain silent if you see me in the wrong; advise me.

As expected, the K͟hārijī runs away and declines the debate offer. However, so that he does not look completely shameless in doing so, he throws out the “mubāhalah” cop out as a counteroffer instead.

Typical.

I did not expect him to accept, and for two main reasons:

Firstly, because this k͟habīth is not fit for debating. He knows he cannot answer a shubhah that is posed to him in real time that he’s never seen before, (and we have many new ones, from their scholars and from the Salaf and the Khalaf that we haven’t shown for possible future debates ). He would be shocked and dumbfounded, and would begin stuttering on the spot, just like he did on that live around two years ago. The only way this guy can operate on this topic is by hiding behind 2+ hour videos where he monologues and PDFs that take him months to produce while he attempts to find a way to give Jahmī taʾwīl to the clear āthār of the Salaf.

Secondly, because the people upon his manhaj, and those who share his beliefs, know that he is not fit for it. They know he would embarrass them, and that it would be a complete bloodbath. He knows how to dodge a bullet, I’ll give him that.

- Use a weak evidence
- Have it explained to you
- Dont use it again for a few months in hope that people will forget about the explanation of said evidence
- Regurgitate it months later

This is all they are capable of doing - the insincerity is laughable as they intentionally spread things that we have already explained to them

Naṣīr al-Fahd in Al-Fatāwā al-Ḥāʾiriyah, pages 35-36:

He was asked: Do competitions and the rules within them fall under “judging by other than what Allāh has revealed”? And if so, what is the ruling on those who engage in them, practice them, and acknowledge them, including the referees?

He replied: “The principle is that whoever judges between two—even children in marbles or shooters in shooting—is a judge, as established by the Ṣaḥābah and narrated by the scholars such as Shaykh al-Islām and the Imams of the daʿwah. It is not permissible for any judge to rule except by the judgment of Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ.

So know that the referee in sports competitions is a judge who rules by other than what Allāh has revealed, ruling by FIFA’s laws—may Allāh curse them. For example, if a player intentionally hits another, the ruling in Sharʿī law is qisās (retaliation), whereas their ruling is a red card. Ruling by other than what Allāh revealed is disbelief. This is one of those matters in which the ‘maʿrūf’ (good) has become ‘munkar’ (evil), and the ‘munkar’ has become ‘maʿrūf’. And Allāh is the One whose help is sought.”
