Heavy traffic congestion and confrontations between commuters and district authorities were reported in Shillong's Polo area on Thursday after police restricted vehicular movement ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit.

Police stopped vehicles travelling from the Lawmali area towards Polo from around 10:30 am, leading to long queues and significant traffic delays. The restrictions were part of security arrangements for Shah's visit to Shillong, where he chaired the 73rd Plenary meeting of the North Eastern Council at the State Convention Centre.

Several motorists, including two-wheeler riders, got out of their vehicles and argued with magistrates deployed at the site in the presence of police personnel. Continuous honking was heard across the area as commuters expressed dissatisfaction over the restrictions.

The meeting and the LG's tweet happened on 26th evening, yet I avoided reacting to the post that evening. But next morning it dawned on me that it was more of a press statement than just a tweet as the absurd statement appeared in several newspapers. So I made this video but again restrained myself from posting...
Shayad unki aakhri ho yeh sitam, har sitam yeh soch kar hum seh gaye...
But this morning even more media channels carried this... and I kept getting calls from journalists for my comments.
