The country is not being governed and Labour say there won't be a Prime Minister till September.
Keir Starmer is off on a farewell tour and Andy Burnham wants a summer holiday. Neither is thinking about our national security.
We need to cut welfare and fund our military.
The big question we should all be asking is why has Keir Starmer given Ukraine £21billion of OUR money whilst leaving our own armed forces depleted?
There should be an investigation into this.
His duty is to the UK
They tell us to turn off taps, switch off hosepipes, drink from bottles with tethered caps, turn the lights off and tell us to eat less red meat…but at the same time, allow huge AI data centres that deplete our natural resources. We are being conned by our own governments.
A massive part of the problem is that we have a bunch of politicians in government who live in their affluent ivory towers completely removed from the problems that they have created. Totally out of touch.
Heat pump tumble dryers being made mandatory as U.K. adopts EU rules. I push a vote to protest the way these statutory instrument regulations are slipped through
Let me categorically Debunk this utter rot. @sainsburys.
I am a poultry Breeder. The hens that lay white eggs (Amberline/White Star) DO NOT have a lower carbon footprint.
Yes they eat a bit less and produce roughly the same amount of eggs as the Brown egg layers (Bovan/Lowman/ISA Brown) but they live shorter lives, are prone to dying suddenly when startled, a flighty and nervous and because they live shorter productive lives (12 -18mnths) vs brown 18/24mnths (both commercial farmed), you have to incubate more which is increased (Electricity/gas costs) and their eggs are not the same quality.
I breed and keep 20+ different breeds, including: ISA Brown hens and White Stars. All my hens are 100% free range, Not a single barn kept bird, I have ISA browns that are 5yrs old and still laying beautiful Brown eggs, I have not seen a White star live beyond 3yrs and certainly none have laid eggs past 18-24mnths.
White stars Lay themselves to death. They are slender birds and because they dont eat a lot, it drains their personal vitality to keep up laying the eggs you want to sell because of the nonsensical lie that they are "More Carbon Neutral"
You want to know about eggs, come talk to someone like me, Don't rely on some hairbrained imagination of a buyer who's trying to squeeze the profit margin for a few extra pennies at our expense and to the poor hens detriment.
I knew what I was getting into when I entered this debate and compared to what others have suffered, I've got off lightly. Even so, it continues to astound that Kemi Badenoch remains the only UK political leader offering unequivocal solidarity to women defending their rights.
Many MPs tell us that the current state pension age is 'unsustainable'. Which is odd, really, given that they can claim parliamentary pensions as soon as they turn 55.
1/ Something very important is being missed in the Peter Murrell coverage. And it explains why Murrell was able to carry on the embezzlement long after he should have been stopped. And why John Swinney cannot hide behind the “victim of criminality” defence.🧵
If Nicola Sturgeon didn’t question/notice expenditure in her home, in her own kitchen, then what the heck was going on with taxpayer’s money, did this reckless attitude to expenditure impact the entire Scottish government?
This is correct. Kirsten Oswald was happy to shut down questioning. As was Alex Kerr who is now the national secretary of the SNP. There are plenty of witnesses who will speak to this should there be a proper independent inquiry. Both should be considering their position.
When the finance & audit committee &the treasurer & Jo Cherry resigned because they had no access to the books & no answers on missing funds
And Peter was flush with cash
& spending extravagantly
Sturgeon had no suspicion
Today came as a complete shock?
🇬🇧 🥀 Labour think banning new oil & gas will make the UK more “energy independent”.
🇳🇴 Norway think drilling their oil & gas will make them more “energy independent”.
I know who I think is right.
Except that it purports to claim that the area (Makerfield) has been a victim of 40 years of Thatcherism (that’s what Burnham seems to be running against, which means he’s also running against the Blair-Brown government, of which he was a part). Yet the backdrop to his wandering shows rows of neat, well-kept, substantial semi-detached homes, with plenty new cars in the driveways and a vibrant high street, despite all the road works improving it. Oh yes and a state school so good he sent his kids to it. Put simply — the pictures clash with his words of victimhood and deprivation.
The brass neck of Andy Burnham and the Labour Party is off the scale.
They’ve got 411 MPs on the payroll yet apparently not one of them is fit to lead the country. So their big idea is to parachute him back in, triggering a mayoral by-election and a parliamentary by-election for the rest of us to foot.
And they genuinely think voters will lap it up like a cat at a saucer. Entitled doesn’t begin to cover it.
I hope they get absolutely trounced by Reform.
With all 136 English councils counted:
Reform gained 1,451 seats
Labour lost 1,496 seats
Tories lost 563 seats
Greens gained 441 seats
LibDems gained 155 seats
In other news north of the border:
The SNP won 58 seats with a 33% share of the vote (need 65 for a majority).
In the previous 2021 Holyrood elections they won 64 seats with a 44% share of the vote.
So down six seats and 11 percentage points on five years ago.
Not quite the momentum for independence the Nats are claiming. Will be quite easy for Westminster to bat away calls for another Indy ref.
Who thinks that before we have another Indy referendum we should have another one on Devolution. It’s nearly 30 since we had the Devolution referendum and it’s only fair we have one of those before another Indy one which was only 12 years ago.
