[ARTICLE] Actors Lee Jun Hyuk and Kang Hanna will play a married couple in the drama #TheRemarriedEmpress. 👑

On the 12th, Kang Hanna’s agency confirmed to Star News that she will play the role of Krista, the Empress of the Western Kingdom.

According to Lee Jun Hyuk’s agency on the same day, the actor will appear in the series as Wharton III, the late emperor and elder brother of Heinrey (played by Lee Jong Suk), who is also married to Krista.

The story follows Navier (played by Shin Mina), the Empress of the Eastern Empire, who accepts Emperor Sovieshu’s (Ju Ji Hoon) request for divorce on the condition that she be allowed to remarry Heinrey, the Prince of the Western Kingdom. The backstory of their divorce stems from Rashta (Lee Se Young), a former runaway slave who becomes Sovieshu’s concubine, causing the main conflict.

The series is directed by Jo Soo Won, known for I Can Hear Your Voice, Pinocchio, and Still 17, with a script written by Yeo Ji Na and Hyun Choong Yeol of The Uncanny Counter.

The Remarried Empress is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
