This! One of my biggest pet peeves. I will never use the word “accident” unless we can corroborate it is an accident.

Take care when using the words accident or crash.
Both are generally acceptable for automobile and other collisions and wrecks. However, when negligence is claimed or proven, avoid accident, which can be read by some as a term exonerating the person responsible.
