The Kremlin never stops investing in useful idiots.
Former Polish MP and leader of the fringe pro-russian party Front, Krzysztof Tołwiński, has delivered a shipment of first-aid kits purchased in belarus to the russian army.
“We wish the russian soldiers in the trenches never have to use them, but if anything happens, they can always count on our help,” he said, urging fellow Poles to join his initiative.
Tołwiński was previously convicted of inciting hatred after calling Ukrainians “Banderite scum” and demanding they be expelled from Poland. Earlier this year, he also organized a Victory Day rally on behalf of the Kremlin.
My word, is this the calibre of leadership in the IOC?
I have never heard so much gobbledygoop in my life.
People in all international sporting events represent their country. That is what makes international sport so exciting.
If a country is rogue, its representatives must be banned from participation.
In March 2025 russian dictator congratulated Kirsty Coventry, a Zimbabwean politician, and sports administrator, on her election as International Olympic Committee president, saying her "unique experience" would ensure the movement's advancement. Only dead naive people can believe that Coventry was elected with a helping hand of Moscow. Putin's sports minister, Mikhail Degtyarev, made it plain in March 2025 that Moscow would press for reinstatement. "We are waiting, in this era of a new leader, for the Olympic movement to become stronger, more independent and more prosperous and that Russia will return to the Olympic podium," he wrote on the Telegram messaging app. And indeed Ms. Coventry has already delivered on Moscow’s expectations. In fact consistency leaves a trail.
Zimbabwe’s voting record on UN General Assembly resolutions in support of Ukraine since 2014:
🟢 In favour — 0
🔴 Against — 17
⚪ Abstained — 9
➖ Absent — 1
Not a single vote for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Seventeen against.
Voting records is like a fingerprint an evidence that puts at a scene.
Allowing russian athletes to Olympic Games - Moral Disengagement is a framework coined by an American-Canadian social psychologist of Ukrainian and Polish descent Albert Bandura. It refers to the cognitive tricks people use to separate moral standards from their unethical actions. This allows them to behave without feeling guilt or shame. Bandura originally outlined these mechanisms in his foundational work on Social Cognitive Theory. It may be characterized by - Moral Justification: Harmful conduct is reframed as serving a higher, socially worthy, or moral purpose. Disregarding or Distorting Consequences: Minimizing, ignoring, or actively denying the harmful effects of one's actions, ensuring that moral self-sanctions are never triggered.
In his later book, Moral Disengagement: How People Do Harm and Live with Themselves, Bandura extended these concepts to the organizational level, showing how institutional structures in the finance, tobacco, and entertainment industries facilitate these maneuvers. Today’s actions by International Olympic Committee @iocmedia may well serve as a good example of moral disengagement 👇
This aged so well.
Crocodile tears.
Back then, the IOC leadership disqualified me without any grounds because they didn’t want to admit reality and honor our fallen Ukrainian athletes.
In her interview after the disqualification, Ms. Coventry shed crocodile tears and spoke about solidarity with Ukraine, as well as providing generators as humanitarian aid for Ukrainian sports facilities.
The issue of the generators was never raised again, and of course the IOC never delivered anything.
In the same way, their “solidarity with Ukraine” turned out to be just as much of a fake as Coventry’s tears.
EU officials are calling to strip the IOC of its European funding after it reinstated Russia's Olympic Committee.
Estonia will propose excluding the IOC from EU funding programs, including Erasmus+.
"It is impossible to understand decisions that seek to bring aggressor countries back into international sport as if nothing had happened," Estonia's culture minister said, and the EU's sport commissioner signaled support: sport "cannot become a back door for normalizing aggression."
The 7 July IOC decision paves Russians' way to the 2028 Los Angeles Games. Ukraine's sports minister called it an "alarming signal" and asked federations to hold their bans.
Ukraine needs Poland as much as Poland needs Ukraine.
The russians have been very successful in creating a rift between the two countries in the past weeks. Their only major success in a Summer full of failures in prosecuting their war.
I have decided to stop fanning this rift with my comments.
I love Poland but I support Ukraine first because they are the ones doing the actual fighting against an enemy that wants to destroy both countries.
