proud to have worked with Family Office on this site!
huge thanks to diego (@messybirkin),david fetherson, and the rest of the https://t.co/KilzbdDUwh team for the opportunity.
Didn't win again this year but I really enjoyed working on Waypoint and hope to publicly release it (or at least part of it somehow) soon.
Congrats to all the scholars this year!
Introducing my third #swiftstudentchallenge submission, Waypoint. A fully-offline NYC subway transit app, with AI-powered search and support for accessible routes.
This took me roughly 3 weeks and lots of all-nighters to finish. I'll release a write-up soon.
At its state, it's very tedious for me to add new widgets and features without breaking anything.
Thus, I will be rewriting it from the ground up, making sure it's more efficient and scalable. I hope to finish this by this summer.
Update on Streamlined:
It's a project I'm still very passionate about and a project I started more than 2 years ago as a way for me to learn iOS development. As I've built more complex features, the foundation I built for the app is starting to give.
@edwardsanchez@ephemeralapps looking at the more detailed requirements, this implementation can pretty much achieve all of those after tweaking a little bit.
@edwardsanchez dm'ed you but you might not see it so here's how i implemented it. it basically meets all your requirements and is achieved with 95% SwiftUI.

@aryanguptacs iโll test the app in the real world to see what kind of changes iโd need to make to present realtime data while relying as little on the internet as possible.

@aryanguptacs been thinking about whether to release it publicly or not tbh. the app itself is more of a โproof of conceptโ per se as static/offline subway data can vary from realtime data and doesnโt take into account service changes.
@aryanguptacs If you're referring to subway stations in Grand Central such in 4 5 6 7, then yeah it does show you details on the Uptown/Downtown platforms but if you're referring to Metro-North and LIRR trains then unfortunately this app doesn't support them :/ would be cool tho!
