@mattyglesias doesn't help the legislature added an specific ban on light rails in that immediate area, so they're really making it difficult to bring LR to that area as well. Org plan was to bring light rail all the way west to I-17 but an bill specifically excluded the area around Capitol.

Tired of missing or postponing meetings due to lack of interpreters and having to adjust my schedule to theirs. I’m leaning more on automatic speech recognition—thinking fast, typing even faster. It’s a trade-off, but one I’m mostly happy to make if it gives me independence.
Of course, a video discussing the serious issue of police brutality on a Deaf citizen is not captioned online via mobile (no option to show captions).... C'mon @abc15
[Long sigh]
A Phoenix officer testified that if a deaf man had just told him he was deaf, things wouldn't have escalated so quickly. The officer began tackling the man less than one second after their encounter began.

@DerrickBehm Just wondering if you are aware of any grouping of deaf urban planners or deaf in adjacent planning fields? I m looking for resources and discussion in how to handle some issues in regards to urban planning. Thanks!
@1iane Yeah I only noticed that because Alex in his DM report dropped that detail RIGHT after a convo ad, like "oh btw they pay they own way..." and that it was " expected as part of volunteering". It didn't sit right with me at all.
@12News Do you realize there's an bill in the Legislature put in by an politician from Queen Creek to end ADOT funding if we accept federal funds for the trains? This isn't mentioned in the story.
@stevestockmar @ASU@AzNewsmedia@asuwestcampus@WESTMARC Got a question. Was there ANY Reason Michael Crow appeared via video instead of in-person? It does speak volumes when the president of an university isn't that bothered to drive ~30 miles for a renaming event.
There were 38 million trips between the Los Angeles and Phoenix metro areas in 2010, with the car-to-air travel ratio being nearly 50/50. If a direct rail route along the I-10 corridor operated at 150 mph, it would be 3.5 hours quicker than driving and competitive with flying.
