@donnfelker I don't see the hype with @kotlin. I think introducing the null "safety" features while still attempting to simultaneously interoperate with a language that uses null means both features are half done in the language.

@donnfelker @kotlin I think I found a bug in its type casting because when the code is written in Java the issue does not occur. I was being a bit harsh as much boilerplate is removed but for all the syntactic sugar it is still Java byte code under the hood.
