It's amazing and pretty cool that my body can feed my son. I'm lucky I can do it, and I love the hours we spend snuggled together while I feed him. But it's hard, too. It's hard in ways that simply caring for a newborn is not. We need to be honest with each other about that.
8. There's a lot of pressure. Breastmilk production is a Use It Or Lose It activity. You're told that if you don't feed/pump often enough, or baby doesn't suck properly, or you offer a bottle of formula, your supply will dry up forever. This isn't true. But you panic anyway.
