As DP, Ruto had over 150 loyal elected MPs and over 27 elected Senators. He used to literally shoot down bills he was opposed to in Parliament. And he was facing a combined force of of Raila, Uhuru and Kalonzo. He also single handedly brought down BBI. Then there is the current Opposition. They have even admitted they cant mobilize 50 members.50!!
DCP is already blaming the government for the Utumishi Fire Tragedy.
John Methu claims the CS for Interior is responsible and is demanding his resignation, arguing that he never drove from Nairobi to Gilgil to rescue the students.
It is at times like these that we realise just how statesman & selfless a leader Raila Odinga was.
During tragedies, he always reached out to the affected families. He never blamed his opponents or tried to score cheap political points.
I remember vividly that after he lost the 2013 election following the Supreme Court ruling, terrorists attacked Westgate Mall, where many lives were lost. Even though Baba was still bitter and believed the election had been stolen from him, he put his differences aside and joined his opponent, then-President Uhuru Kenyatta, to visit the victims in various hospitals.
But these Wamunyoro fellows always look for an incident or tragedy to score cheap political points. Talk of Jirongo accident, Raila’s death, Ng’eno’s Helicopter Crash, and so on.
They don’t seem to care whether families are hurting, what matters to them is politics, nothing else.
People who follow these fellas need to wake up. These are not leaders!
Gen Zs,
This video is just 3 minutes!
This is the true definition of tranformative leadership.
Kibera was once touted as the largest slum in Africa; today it's being turned into a thriving estate, equipped with amenities to enhance the quality of living for residents, especially the targeted low-income earners.
As it stands, around 5000 affordable housing units are nearing completion.
I honestly love President William Ruto's determination to face the housing challenge bedeviling the nation with the boldness and urgency that it requires.
The Affordable Housing Programme fosters inclusive development, ensuring that those in the lower wrung of the social cadre, especially workers across Kenya, have access to decent housing options.
This investment not only creates jobs but also stimulates demand for ancillary goods and services, such as furniture, appliances, and utilities. Additionally, improved infrastructure associated with housing projects, such as roads, water supply, and sanitation facilities, enhances the overall urban environment and attracts further investment.
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has been too vocal in criticizing President William Ruto’s administration, yet Kenyans have not forgotten what characterized his own 10-year tenure and why many rejected his leadership in 2022. Raila Odinga did not lose the 2022 election because Kenyans did not love or support him, but because many voters wanted to send a strong message to Uhuru Kenyatta and his administration, as they felt he would mislead Raila.
The former president should understand that we respect him as our retired Head of State. While he claims that he advised us and we failed to listen, it is ultimately up to us to decide. The honorable thing for him to do is to give President Ruto space to work for Kenyans.
Uhuru should learn from Daniel arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki. Moi handed over power to Kibaki and kept quiet; Kibaki did the same after leaving office. Uhuru should now extend the same courtesy to President Ruto.
If Uhuru fails to stop attacking President Ruto, it may force some of us to expose all the negative things that characterized his government.
Uhuru has the audacity to mention the 2007 post election violence like he wasn't in ICC for being a perpetrator alongside Ruto??
Why do these bastards leave office and start running their mouths saying shit like this thinking we forgot exactly who they are??
Kenyans are very strange people!
They have not arrested, prosecuted and jailed Uhuru Kenyatta for the sh.10 trillion debt he took and stole, but they want President @WilliamsRuto to repay Uhuru’s debts, pay government workers and develop the country while resisting paying taxes.
And they still deny President Ruto is a miracle performer!
I’m curious: Did Moi ever bother about how the country was being run after handing power to Kibaki in 2002? Did he involve himself into local politics?
When Kibaki retired in 2013, did he ever bother criticising Uhuru’s government, or did he just quietly retire in Othaya? PNU basically died because Kibaki didn’t want anything to do with politics after 2013.
So my question is: Why is Uhuru so obsessed with local politics? He was President for ten years ,our debt skyrocketed, police brutality was rampant, we had the River Yala Massacre, the killing of NASA supporters, and many other atrocities under his watch.
When fuel prices shot up, he nearly cried asking if he was responsible, while billions were being lost daily. CBC was forced down our throats, among other things.
Why is he now so bothered about how the country is being ruled when most of the problems we’re facing today started during his tenure? Why not just retire peacefully like Moi and Kibaki?
Uhuru Kenyatta is referring to a specific community. He says he previously warned the people of Mt. Kenya against electing a leader from that community. The level of tribalism and bitterness he holds toward President Ruto is on another level. This is the same person who, during his tenure, weaponized institutions such as the KRA, EACC, and DCI to deal with his political opponents because he could not govern effectively. He cannot believe the transformation taking place under President Ruto’s leadership. Now that he has come out openly, we will respond to him and remind Kenyans who he truly is.
Ruto spoke Kalenjin in a Kalenjin funeral, mkampasha sana. Jana, Uhuru spoke Kikuyu in a Jubilee National Delegates meeting, you hailed him as a patriot.
