The Rock from Jumanji, Bad!Wonder Woman, and Deadpool/Randy Schoeberg walk into a bar (for eggs?) where Lila from the Umbrella Academy is the bouncer (who does not want anyone to have eggs). That is Red Notice.
@spacecrone Imagine Water Works & Mutual Aid Louisiana are great groups. On Instagram thetindermeteorologist and lookatthisfuckinstreet have been putting out resources and calls for help. Krewe of Red Beans has Feed the Secondline.
Footage taken Monday shows the destruction and flooding wrought by Hurricane Ida in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.
Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser, who posted the video, said “many miles” in the area remained underwater. “It looks like a war zone,” he said.
Just wondering if anyone realized that a catastrophic storm just fucked Louisiana up and people are in dire need of supplies and resources or if it’s just that no one gives a shit
New Orleans Ida update: Residents who stayed are asked to remain sheltered, residents who evacuated asked to not come back until further notice. Power going to be out for a long time (tower fell into MS river), roads blocked, buildings damaged, pumps running on generators.
Flooding is still a threat. The pumps are running on generator power. Gas is in short supply.
People who are stuck there still need resources. It’s hot and humid as fuck. There’s no way to get out of the heat, fridges/freezers are out.
Catastrophic damage from Ida to the power grid means power out in almost all of Orleans Parish means the pumps are running on generators and power will likely be rationed. This could easily take weeks to repair on top of everything else. Widespread flash flood warnings issued.
New Orleans Sewage & Water Board has just reported power failures at sewer pump stations throughout the city and is urging residents to reduce wastewater generated by appliances #HurricaneIda
"This is terrible..."
Hurricane Ida has strengthened again, and is nearing Category 5 strength. This storm is becoming increasingly more dangerous >> https://t.co/MU0vTiWJYO
We don’t know how bad this is going to be, but it’s going to be BAD. So, reminder to northerners: The South is not disposable. People live here. People’s whole lives are here. New Orleans is more than it’s tourism value.
My gf and I were in the middle of a long process trying to move out of state from New Orleans when we got news of Ida. We had a pod delivered early Friday morning and by later that morning more information suggested it would be VERY BAD.
The vast majority of people who stay put don’t have the means to leave. And they don’t need empty words about how ReSiLiEnT New Orleans is or how That’s What You Get For Living Below Sea-level. They need resources and support.
