I finally understand
When I was a kid , my grandmother got me into wrestling
She put on a old vhs tape of Dusty Rhodes vs Ric Flair 1988 steel cage match
We would watch and tape on vhs tapes raw , smack down and TNA
My mom would show me old tapes of her favorites Ric Flair and Sting
Every month they would take me to Walmart and we get the newest wrestling dvd on ppv
As I got older i began to wonder
Why they did this
Why introduce me to wrestling at Six years old
I finally understand it now
The last 22 years no matter what I’ve been through wrestling has been my escape
From the bullies, from trauma
Made me laugh when I’m sad
Made me believe anything can happen
That hard work pays off
That dreams do come true
And tonight something happened that has only ever happened one other time to me
In 2019 I watched my first wrestling match in two years after my grandmother passed away
It was Cody vs Dustin Rhodes
That night as I watched it , it felt as if it was my grandmother telling me that she still with me
To continue to fight
To remember the good and stay strong
Tonight watching @realKILLERkross win the @MLW world championship
Watching how excited @Lady_Scarlett13 was
Seeing him fight and claw from number 1 to beat 39 others
To do it in front of his family
To do it in front of his mom
And relating to his story
Doing it two days before what would have been my mom 47 birthday almost two weeks after losing her to cancer the 25th
It happened again
It felt like my mom was there with me
Not the person that had changed from the cancer
But the best parts of my mom
Like she was telling me she still with me
And she no longer hurting
Maybe it’s a spiritual awareness
Maybe I’m just crazy
But it made me realize they introduced me to wrestling so in the bad I have a escape
And I have a way to be connected to them
And it’s moments like this that make me love wrestling
Bc those moments are once in a lifetime
There everything
I needed this
Thank you Killer Kross
This is my favorite moment in wrestling ever
#WeWantKross
Strong case to be made this is top 5 (I’m open to 3 or even 1-2) entrances in wrestling history. Every time it pops up, I have to watch it. So damn good.

From our earliest days, Black history has always been American history – and Black folks have profoundly shaped our American culture through music, art, literature, sports, and beyond. One month a year is not sufficient to celebrate the power of the movements and the people who have fought for the rights we enjoy today. That’s something that we have to do each and every day, as we strive to live up to their example and make sure our children and grandchildren remember their stories.
